Incredible trip to Swan Oyster Depot last weekend h/t @Vogelocity

Such fresh, fresh oysters that were meticulously cleaned, firm and flavorful. My friends and I split two dozen of an assortment of oysters. In addition, I ordered a combination seafood cocktail and my friends each tried a bowl of clam chowder. One of the guys offered us a piece of smoked salmon, which was the best I've ever tasted—not fishy or slimy in the least. The seafood cocktail had highs and lows. The two oysters on top—which were different from the ones in the combination platter—which a little bland, but the cocktail shrimp and crab were especially grand.

The line to grab a seat at the family-run counter restaurant really builds up over the day, so it's best to go early. Yay, Swan Oyster Depot!

(What inspired the gull to figure this out remains a mystery but apparently chickens are particularly fond of the shell itself.) Since that day, oysters have occupied a unique position in our culinary history. Few comestibles have been as celebrated and scorned, relished and rejected as this humble bivalve."
