Five posts a day, 35 posts a week: that's a lot of Holy Kaw posts! Naturally, all of the topics are interesting to me--that's why I chose to write about them. But there are still special gems among them, ones that's really tickle me. So, I present to you the Holy Kaw Round Up, a selection of my favorite posts from the week.
Hope you enjoy! Happy Friday! Mooooo!

I opened up my new monitor today, and I love it! It's a 23-inch Acer ordered off New Egg for $180. It's a bit of an expensive purchase, although it's a good deal for the size of the monitor. Now I can also use my monitor to watch movies, and it really boosts my productivity, too. Just tonight, Holy Kaw-ing went so much faster! Acer is a great buy. No speakers included, but I already have some from Josh. And the color is vibrant and bright. Not a single dead pixel that I can notice. *high five to myself!* (Which I suppose is really a clap.)
So, this is the Dupont Circle yogurt place everyone has been talking about! I finally tried it and got half original and half tart original. Not bad, but I still miss Fraiche dearly. There has not been a near comparison thus far. Mr Yogato makes up quite a bit in ambiance, though. There are board games on the table and quirky little rules. If you get a stamp on your forehead that says "I got stamped by Mr Yogato" (or something like that) or do the Thriller dance, you get discounts. And I actually saw both during the 15 minutes I was sitting there.
This is at Sanctuary T, the snazzy tea house in SoHo. Notice the tea all in double-walled glass Bodum cups. :-)
Someone recently said, "Noelle, I went to your blog, and all I see is FOOD." My coworker who was sitting with me simply nodded.
These days, I find myself in the social media and marketing world, and as such I am drawn to interesting ways companies engage customers.
This, for instance, is your first greeting to the Amazon.com home page. It's not a book or an espresso maker. It's a half-goofy message to the customer about the customer. It starts with a funny customer quote (even linking to the customer's blog), directly addresses a customer need, offers an avenue for feedback, proves that the company listens, keeps a little humor in there (Victim of wrap rage!), and signs the message from the founder and CEO.
More and more companies are talking about authentic communication through social media. Amazon is doing just that right through its home page--and they're selling packaging at the same time.
What if more companies were to integrate this "authentic communication" more closely with their their product?
The twice cooked pork is exceptional. The mapo tofu is authentic, but the ma la is awfully strong.Chow fun is not the best, but not bad (Check out Mei Wah or Full Kee in DC instead). Overall, you gotta try the twice cooked pork! Some of the best we've ever had.
It's definitely a hole in the wall. Clean, but flooded in down-to-earth fluorescent lighting and simple tables with no cloths. Sodas are pulled from the visible refrigerator and served by the can with a straw--perfect for soothing Sichuan tickles.
